The Vows

His

An, I never dreamed I would be standing here today with the girl I sat next to in French class. I never thought that sending a message to the wrong person years later would lead to us becoming such great friends, a stalwart couple, and now, within minutes, lifelong partners.
Refusing to go to a sixth high school, having class schedules forcibly changed, belonging to different networks of friends… there are countless moments over the past decade and a half that could have led us down different paths. The fact that all the stars aligned for us is proof that we were meant to be together.

You constantly push me not to waste my potential and encourage me never to settle for less. You’ve given me the space to sometimes be selfish, assuring me it’s okay to do so. You’ve nurtured me through the many strange ailments I’ve undergone. And through it all, you’ve borne it with the calm temperament of a kitten.
You’re not just my better half; you’re my entire essence. I promise that I will return the favor, if not more so. I promise to keep you laughing by constantly mispronouncing words I know how to spell, and to lovingly enable your charming OCD tendencies.

I promise to always keep a stockpile of junk food available while we search for healthier options to satisfy your discerning taste buds. [Use ‘discerning’ or another word if ‘captious’ wasn’t intended]. I promise to always stand beside you, even when our opinions differ, and to support you in all your endeavors.
Thank you for marrying me. There’s no one else I’d rather grow old with.

You are my D12EaMgUrL7.

Hers

Rinny, when i first met you 14yrs ago, like many people here, i never imagined us getting together. But like they say, never say never. We were good friends for some odd years. You were equally kind to everyone, so it took awhile for me to realize what was up.  You have always been my better half, my enabler, and the complement of everything that i lack, from body fat, to utmost generosity and kindness. You accept me for who i am and allow me to be 100% my perfect self.

As you know i usually dont make promises, but I’ll make an exception today. I promise to never stop teasing you, never cook a meal unless youre in the mood for cabbage water. I promise to work through our differences, support you through difficult times and yell at you when youre being difficult.  Thank you for choosing me. Let’s grow really really old together.
